Things To Take To A Book Festival
You’ve got your ticket, planned which authors you’ll see, decided which workshops you’ll take, and figured out what you’ll wear, but that’s about as far as your festival planning has taken you. Not to fear – our literature festival essentials list will ensure you don’t forget anything!
You never know who you might run into, or with whom you might strike up a conversation in the seat next to you!
Cash
Authors, publishers, and/or booksellers often have special cash-only deals on books.
A Pen
Authors are often available for signing books.
Books From Home For Author Signings
If you’re seeing one of your favourite authors, and there’s an opportunity to have their previous books signed, make sure you don’t miss out.
Snacks
Pack snacks of unperishable foods that are easy to eat if you’re waiting in line for an author meet and greet.
A Water Bottle
Most festivals will have taps inside where you can fill up your reusable water bottle and ensure you stay well hydrated. Save space with a collapsible bottle.
A Backpack or Collapsible Bag
There are always brochures to pick up and books to buy directly from authors, and you don’t want to be carting them around in plastic bags!
