Before #CanLitPit on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, learn more about Coteau Books!
On Wednesday, August 10, 2016, Canadian writers from coast to coast are invited to pitch their unpublished and polished manuscripts as part of #CanLitPit (Canadian Literature Pitch). Using the hashtag #CanLitPit as well as manuscript specific age and genre hashtags, writers will be able to post their pitches between 10 AM and 10 PM to be reviewed by a number of established publishers and literary agents. If a writer’s pitch receives a “like” (heart button) from a participating publisher or literary agent, a writer should submit their manuscript following that publisher or literary agent’s guidelines.
One of the many participating publishers is Coteau Books. Learn more about Coteau Books below!

According to Coteau Books, what makes a great pitch?
Pitches that include the intended audience for the work (including some comparable titles in the current marketplace), a plot summary, and answer the question: “Why should I care?” (In our case, that’s answering the question of what drives the book and makes us want to read and know more.)
